I just wanted to give a quick shout out to the In-N-Out at Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. My cousin Jacqueline works there...code name "Jackie."
Might I suggest my new favorite, a cheeseburger with grilled onions or the reliable stand by Double Double. Both very satisfying.
If you are not in the mood for meat you can always ask for a grilled cheese. Trust me you won't even miss the meat. It's part of In-N-Out's secret unpublished menu that is really not a secret.
And be sure to check the bottom of your drink cup for bible verses.
Oh, and by the way, In-N-Out is only like two doors away from Coldstone. I suggest the Cake Batter ice cream with chocolate chips, graham crackers, and chocolate sauce mixed in.
Hmmm...I don't know how I keep putting on weight!

Just like I think Dunkin Donuts has the best coffee, I have never had such a fantastic burger as I had at In-N-Out. I crave the Double Double. I told a friend from Michigan about it, as he is in LA quite a bit for business. He is now hooked. Last year when I came for a visit, I headed to In-N-Out. In October when I come for the Avocado Festival in Carpinteria, I will definitely take a detour to In-N-Out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon, for reminding me how much I want a Double, Double.

Sean and I just had the Chocolate Cake Batter flavor last week - it was glorious, but I recommend broken Butterfinger.

P.S. Tommy's trumps In-N-Out. Dare I say...Chili Cheese Burger, Chili Cheese Fries..mmmmmm
I knew I missed In and Out burgers a little too much when in Vegas last year for a work conference I opted for for a $15.00 cab ride to the closest In & Out burger to the strip as opposed to dancing at Pure nightclub. My cab driver agreed.
ReplyDeleteAnd my choice at coldstone: sweet cream, crushed up chocolate covered waffle cone, heath bar and carmel. Can someone say "sugar coma"?
well this was certainly a popular blog. looks like eating fat calories makes people happy. everyone can't seem to wait to tell you their favorites. i think they're drooling. must go and try all of these fine foods, if i don't go to p&l first for there zucchini fries.
ReplyDeletewhere's jackies comment? i'm looking forward to her also making me laugh.

my favorite in and out story:
ReplyDeleteim working the register behind which we keep stickers for children or amused adults and tokens for the restroom. one straggling sf avid prescription eater (aka crack head) enters in and out, reaches for the stickers and asks something along the lines of, "i need one of these for the bathroom" my coworker looks at him and says, "sir that's a sticker." i hand him a coin and proceed to laugh for the next 15 minutes. perhaps you had to be there. but i also was given a slinky by some truly awesome customer later that day! yay entertaining customers!
secret menu that's not so secret:
try animal style fries or burgers
